Can You Feel The Love Tonight ” is a song from Disney’s 1994 animated film The Lion King composed by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice. It was described by Don Hahn (the film’s producer), Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff (the film’s directors) as having “the most diverse history” in the film. It was a chart hit in the UK, peaking at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart, and achieved even more success in the US, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was a number-one hit in Canada and France, and it sold 11 million copies worldwide. At the 67th Academy Awards in March 1995 it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The same year the song also won Elton John the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Lyrics

There’s a calm surrender
To the rush of day
When the heat of a rolling wave
Can be turned away
An enchanted moment
And it sees me through
It’s enough for this restless warrior
Just to be with you

And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It’s enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we’ve got this far
And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight)
How it’s laid to rest?
It’s enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best

There’s a time for everyone
If they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope
Moves us all in turn
There’s a rhyme and reason
To the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager
Beats in time with yours

And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight)
It is where we are
It’s enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we’ve got this far
And can you feel the love tonight? (Tonight)
How it’s laid to rest?
It’s enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
It’s enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
